Instrument Rentals

We recommend starting your strings journey by renting an instrument. Nat Taft of Taft Violins is our preferred luthier and has a robust rental business. He will help your child find a good-quality instrument in the correct size. To set up an appointment with Nat, contact him here:

Supplies 

All EAGLE Strings students need the following:

• A notebook for lessons

• Music stand and metronome for home (a metronome app will work)

• Bag for music and supplies

CELLO lessons:

• Cello and rockstop

• Suzuki Book 1

• Essential Elements Book 1

• Position Pieces Volume 1, by Rick Mooney

• Height-appropriate chair (child can sit with knees bent near 90 degrees with feet flat on the floor)

VIOLIN or VIOLA lessons:

• Violin or viola and shoulder rest (available from Nat Taft)

• Beginner's Book (for beginners, available from Laura and Katherine)

• Suzuki Book 1 and I Can Read Music, Vol. 1 by Joanne Martin
